Hanging to dry young Eucalyptus branches. We gave the branches for Christmas presents. Hang them in your shower & let the steam hit the leaves to release the relaxing & therapeutic aromas.
Roof drying Nepalese style fermented greens, known as Gundruk. Wilted mustard greens are taken & left in the sun for an afternoon. Then, crush leaves with a rolling pin & place juice & leaves into glass jars to ferment for a week or two, in sun. Next, remove leaves & sun dry to allow you to keep through winter months. To rehydrate, add the dried gundruk in soups or stirfrys, for a tangy delicious addition.
Here John is holding the fruiting branches of the Pindo Palm. The fruits ripen in fall. You can see here a fruit on top of the jar on right. We attended a workshop about how to make vinegars from all types of fruits in Maya-Aztec way at Phat Beets Produce Market, off Stanford ave. & San Pablo.
